The Final Stage for the 'Game Improvement Champion' 

Today was the last of Scott's lessons before we finish off with a 9hole playing lesson to see how his game has changed. 

          

We have looked at most parts of his game during the lessons, so half of the lesson today was checking to make sure that he had remembered what we had changed in previous lessons and was happy with the changes. The second half of the lesson was putting, even though he felt that we had helped his putting during the first 9 hole game we played, we still wanted to have a lesson on the putting green to instil the changes we had spoken about. 

On the course Scott was taking long backswings for short putts and then decelerating at impact which led to great inconsistency. 

Scott has worked hard at that and seen a dramatic improvement so the only other thing that we changed today was his setup. 

As you can see from the first picture his eyes are outside the ball because he was standing too close to the ball. 

As you can see from the second picture we have moved him away from the ball so his eyes are more over the ball and it is giving his arms more freedom and better posture. Straight away Scott found it much easier to make the correct movement with much better space in front of him, and with the improved length of backswing his putting became much more consistent. 

Scott said afterwards:

"Today was a recap on the lesson and half hour of putting which was perfect. i have learnt a great deal in the last few weeks from John and I'm really looking forward to the 9hole lesson next week to see the difference".



Gary Davies' golf is at an all time high! 

"At the beginning of this year my golf was mediocre. I wasn't happy with distances off the tee and my putting on a good day was dreadful, so bad I didn't want to get the putter out of the bag. This morning I've just shot 36 and 38 = 74. My putts for the round equalled 24. What's changed is having lessons, and now all negative thoughts have gone. I now get that extra distance off the tee I was looking for. As for putting I can't wait to get on the green. I am 68 and thought I was past learning. What lessons have really done for me is brought back the enjoyment of playing. I recommend having a lesson if for no other reason than bringing the fun back into your golf. From me a big thank you" 

Gary has been having lessons since early March with our PGA Assistant Benj Vernon and has seen his game go from strength to strength with a dramatic change in his confidence on the course also. Gary has seen his scores tumble down winning numerous matches and putting in a good performance in this years Club Championship. Massive congratulations to Gary and keep up the good work.

The 6th Green is Back in Action 

If you've visited us over the past few months you will have noticed that we have been re-doing our 6th green. The green has been totally transformed with the addition of a pond and the green has been raised up. We are pleased to announce that the green is now back in play and the hole is back to being a par 4. We hope you enjoy these changes and the character this has added to our course.
