We were delighted to reopen our café on Saturday and would like to thank all of our visitors for their support of it since then and for following the one-way system. For the time being, the inside seating area will remain closed as we are adhering fully to the government social distancing guidelines. Our upstairs patio is open as is a new outdoor seating area behind the grass practice area.

We are taking orders (card only) at the outside servery window, however, we are asking our customers to, if possible, order online. This means the order goes straight to the kitchen and you can choose to either have your food delivered to your table or you can collect yourself. The process is very straightforward and helps to avoid groups congregating at the serving window.

To order online, just scan the QR codes that are on all the tables with your mobile phone and our menu will pop up.

For those of you who can’t wait till the end of the round, keep a lookout for our new refreshments buggy as it does its rounds, it’s already proving quite a hit.

Course news

Course update

We’ve had lots of people asking when we will be allowing 18 hole bookings. Initially, we reopened for 9 holes only to allow as much course capacity for all as possible and also to avoid problems with groups finishing the 9th crossing with starters on the 1st.

From Monday, 27 July, we will be reconfiguring our booking system to allow golfers to book a second 9 holes. The second 9 will need to be booked at least 2 hours after the first 9 to ensure the first 9 is completed comfortably in time for the second 9 and somebody from the group will need to check in their second 9 in the golf shop. We are grateful for your patience while we have been at 9 holes.

Please don’t forget tee time booking is still essential. You can book online HERE. If you need assistance with any element of booking please speak to a member of the pro shop team.

Fitting news

Callaway Fitting Day

Our first Fitting Day since reopening will take place next Wednesday, 15 July. Callaway will be here between 3:00pm - 8:00pm.

We are very excited to be welcoming the Callaway fitting team to Manston and they will be offering COVID safe fittings on the full range of Callaway equipment. Now is definitely the time to book in for a professional fitting.

Due to the need for all of the equipment to be cleaned between slots, we have limited booking availability.

TopTracer Driving Range

A new month means a host of new TopTracer updates. This month’s 'Nearest the Pin' hole might be short but it is devilishly tricky. The 13th at Spanish Bay may measure just 99 yards, it’s not as easy as it looks though.

You’ll also notice a new game called Go Fish…it might look like a game for our younger customers (and they will really enjoy it!), it is though also both great practice and highly addictive for the more experienced golfer.

Golf on Tour

Changes pay off for Bryson

Bryson DeChambeau’s beefed-up new look has had chins wagging since the restart of the PGA Tour. On Sunday, the added muscle mass delivered its first win. A seven-under final round brought his total to -23 for the week and gave ‘The Mad Scientist’ a three-stroke victory at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

The 26-year-old had decided it was time for a change at the back-end of 2019 and put his famed thinking cap (a Ben Hogan-style flat-cap) on to find a solution. The answer, he decided, was to gain muscle in order to drive further.

After finishing T3-T6-T8 in the first three events, this week DeChambeau was finally able to sink the critical putts. His driving distance (now No. 1 on the PGA Tour) has proven effective, but this week went to show that you can’t win without good putting.
