Practice in the warm
It’s been another busy week at the golf centre as the weather starts to feel more Autumnal. Lots of you have been making the most the covered range and of course, full LED floodlights meaning you can practice into the night.
It’s also been good to see the bay heaters we have been trialling being used, we’d love your feedback on these – if they keep you warm, we’ll certainly add more.
Currently in bays 8 and 9, the latest Quartz bay heaters. Just hover your hand over the sensor and they’ll click on for a blast of heat. Perfect for early morning and evening practice. Let us know what you think or any other feedback here.

Nearest the Pin Competition
We’re halfway through the month and have had a fantastic reaction to our ‘Nearest the Pin Competition’ in association with Your Golf Travel.
We now have a SEVEN-way tie at the top of the leaderboard, there’s still time to join the playoff and be in with a great to chance to win a stunning golf holiday in Spain.
The feature nearest the pin hole is the 7th at Pebble Beach, it’s just 110 yards, all you need to do to enter is login in with the Toptracer app and have as many goes as you like.

Since the game began in the 15th century, there is one thing that has never changed – the ball being the only piece of equipment used on every shot. Despite this, it still gets a raw deal with some golfers viewing it as less important than the clubs used to hit it. So, we decided to take a look back and see how modern golf balls compare to those of yesteryear. |
| Callaway's Chrome Soft golf ball |
|
In the beginning Feathery balls reigned supreme for over 200 years in the early days of golf, but even they are relatively new compared to the original hairy balls (guess what they were stuffed with!). It's hard to imagine what it would be like playing with those balls these days, and even the later-developed Gutty and Haskell balls left golfers with little-to-no room for error.
|
Where we are today 100 years ago the thought of using a state-of-the-art Graphene-infused Dual Soft Core to minimise driver spin/maximise distance would have been unthinkable (and probably impossible) – but that is exactly what features in Callaway's Chrome Soft. Snazzy Truvis styling is something the Chrome Softs offer too for those golfers after something a little bit different. Why not grab a dozen or two and leave the Gutty at home? |
