Win a Golfing Holiday to Spain
We are delighted to announce the NEW 'Nearest the Pin' Challenge is now LIVE. This month's challenge takes place on the famous 7th Hole at Pebble Beach.
For this month we have teamed up with Your Golf Travel to bring you the chance to WIN a golfing holiday to Spain. Whoever is closest at the end of October will be heading to Spain. Click here for more details.
It's FREE to enter and the beauty of the hole being only 110 yards, it means everybody has a great shot a winning.
Here's a quick video below of how Toptracer 'Nearest the Pin' works. It couldn't be easier to download the Toptracer app, login and get going.
It promises to be an exciting month!
Range news
Practice in the warm
We have an exciting new addition to our fabulous driving range. With the winter months ahead and the huge importance of practising through the colder months, we have installed NEW bay heaters in bays 8 and 9 for you to enjoy whilst working on your game. Give them a try, just hover your hand over the sensor to turn on.
We are trialling these in the two bays, and if popular we will be rolling them out throughout the range. Click here to let us know your thoughts once you have tried them or speak to a member of staff in-store.
Coaching news
Roll up, roll up
Here at Manston Golf Centre, PGA Professional John Brotherton hosts two very popular “Roll-Up” classes each week:
There’s no need to book, be a member or any restrictions whatsoever. Just come along to either (or both) sessions. It’s just £10 a session and equipment can be provided if necessary.
Adapt your game for winter
Just because the weather has turned chillier and course conditions are beginning to get trickier, it doesn’t mean you need to hibernate your clubs for the winter. In fact, quite the opposite, as a couple of simple adaptations to the way you play will ensure you continue to get the most out of your game.
Putting
The putting surface is finely cut throughout summer and although our greenkeepers continue to do an excellent job in winter, the grass tends to remain slightly longer in the colder months thus requiring a bit more oomph to get the ball to the hole.
Clothing
The latest golf-specific clothing retains heat whilst remaining incredibly lightweight so you have complete freedom of movement on the course. So, leave the baggy jacket at home and make sure you have some of the latest golf attire in the bag.
Change your ball?
Maybe it’s time to go for a golf ball that prioritises distance in the winter? We all know that the ball doesn’t travel or roll as far in the wetter months, so pop in to see us next time you are at the club and we can guide you through the best options available.
It's not uncommon for brands to launch their products as the greatest thing since sliced bread, however, if you like to play a ball that has an ultra-soft feel and doesn't shirk its responsibilities off the tee or around the green, then the brand new TruFeel could well make a justified claim to that title.
Who says you can't have everything all at once?
We were pleasantly surprised when we gave the new TruFeel a try. It not only replaces the popular DT TruSoft in Titleist's range, but we think it's a considerable upgrade too.
We'll leave it to you to make your mind up when you give this ball a try, but it certainly combines an incredibly soft feel with impressive distance.
