We start this week with another success story from one of our regular visitors to the golf centre who has been having regular lessons with Keely. |
Jane Mann's First Victory
Here’s what Keely had to say about Jane’s success...
”I can’t express enough how happy and proud I am of this lady! Jane Mann successfully sealed her first victory at the Ladies Bank Holiday Stableford last week at Royal Cinque Ports after joining last year.
Jane has been working so hard on every aspect of her game recently but struggling with getting it all working together on the same day. But she’s smashed it this week, I feel we will see lots more from her this year.
Keep up the good work!” |

John Brotherton's Next Clinic
John held a very successful clinic last week on putting and he is now following that up with a long game clinic on Saturday 29th June from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
It will be on long irons, hybrids, fairway woods and drivers, so if you would like to understand more about your own personal problems with those clubs and how to improve on them then this is the clinic for you.
Also as we now have Toptracer technology in every bay John will be showing you how this helps your game in the clinic.
There's still time to get involved – JUST 2 SPACES LEFT THOUGH!
|
|
John would like you to bring a wedge as well to the lesson – you’ll find out why on the day! If you would like to come to the clinic then please either phone John on 07930 715487, email him on john@manstongolf.co.uk or pop into the shop and book in at reception. |
Beginner's Club This Thursday 4th July It’s all go this month and following on from John's Clinic we have our next Beginner's Club starting on Thursday 4th July.
As you can see its fantastic value and guaranteed to get your golf on the right tracks whether you’re a complete beginner or relatively new to the game this is perfect for you. JUST 2 SPACES LEFT! |

72 Hole Challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support
Jude along with Mark Peachy, Alan May and Gary Dunster are all putting their golf and bodies to the test by playing 72 Holes of golf on Saturday 29th June at Manston Golf Centre. The team will be teeing off at around 6am and playing right through to around 9pm. If you see them on the course on this day please be sure to allow them to play through as this will help ensure that they will get all 72 holes of golf in and complete the challenge for this very worthwhile cause.
If you would like to sponsor the team, there is a sponsorship form in the golf shop and you can also donate online by clicking here.
If you want to be part of the day and caddie for 9 holes for Jude then please email him using jude@teachgolf.co.uk. He is looking for all the help he can get! |
The Countdown Is Now On... We're into the final week of this promotion, meaning you don't have long left to benefit from a FREE custom fitting and a FREE aftersales lesson with selected equipment purchases in-store. Why take us up on this offer? Well, quite simply, we want you to enjoy better golf this year! We talk a lot about the importance of having clubs that are suited to your game and this is your chance to experience this first-hand. Don't delay it any longer. |

Playing a par-3 over water is as much a mental test as anything else. After all, if it was just light rough between you and the green, would you still hit panic mode? Of course not, so what can you do to keep the nerves at bay and ensure your ball sails safely over the drink? |
| Stay calm and don't panic! |
|
The biggest obstacle to overcome when playing over water is not actually the H2O, but rather your own mental barrier. Here's our advice: - Focus on a point behind the green that is in line with the flag. This can be a tree, branch, it could even be a leaf – anything just so long as it pulls your eye-line away from the wet stuff and closer to the pin
- Stay relaxed. You have hit the ball a million times before so there is no need to panic now
- Stick to your pre-shot routine. This is the best way to stay in the moment and make your next shot seem like any other
These tips will have you relishing those watery par-3s but if you find yourself still struggling with some of the tougher shots in golf, then speak to a member of the team about a lesson so we can iron out any kinks in your game.
