We’ve had our first hole in one!

Another busy week at the golf centre and we look forward to another long bank holiday weekend which, of course, we are open throughout!

We’re delighted to announce we’ve had our first Toptracer hole in one! Very well done to Anne Gillon on this excellent achievement, it’s certainly testament to the hard work she puts in on her game. Having been having lessons with PGA coach Gavin Webb he was equally delighted for her!

Putting Clinic With John Brotherton

Spaces still available for this Saturday’s putting clinic with John Brotherton PGA…alia.

This Saturday, 4th May, John will be running a Putting Clinic. He will be suggesting pre game routines and drills and looking at each person individually to help improve their particular action. He will give a better understanding to each person on how they can score lower and enjoy their game more.

John will be demonstrating and talking for part of the time so he does not want anyone to worry about being bent over a ball for too long as he is always very aware that those with bad backs will find that difficult for such a long time.

The clinic is for 2 hours from 10.30 to 12.30 and is ONLY £20 so either phone or text John on 07930715487 or email on john@manstongolf.co.uk or pop into the shop and book at the counter to avoid disappointment.

Five Club Results

Last Sunday saw the annual five club competition with a decent field taking to the course after much deliberation about the make up of their chosen 5 clubs.

1st - Keith Harris
2nd - Clive Stevens (on countback)
3rd - Duncan Mclean

Well done to Keith Harris, an excellent score in tricky conditions and with just 5 clubs.

From green to tee

Be honest, how much thought do you put into the golf ball that you play? Probably not as much you do your clubs but considering the ball is in play on every single shot, using any old thing that you find at the bottom of your bag could be leaving you paddling uphill.

Oh, for putts sake

Well played! You’re on the green in two, outside chance of a birdie, just knock it close and walk away with the perfect par. Only that isn’t always the case, is it? Three putts later and you’re walking to the next hole cursing, but it doesn’t have to be that way…
