Back to normality up here this week with the summer holidays over for another year. Hopefully the end of the holidays does not also signal the end of the pleasant weather as there are plenty of good golfing months left this year.

Midweek Medal

Well done to Michael Wardle who fired a superb nett 58 to win the September midweek medal, not only was this the best nett score it was also the best gross! This was enough to reduce Michael’s handicap down from 19 to 16, very well done!

Winter League

It’s that time again, the Winter League is back. You can sign up via the list on the noticeboard or just drop us an email here. The format will be similar to last year (depending on numbers), leagues running through the winter with the top places going through to the knockout stages.

It’s a great competition for the winter and an ideal way to keep playing and meet new golfers.

In your sight

Sightlines on putters might seem like a nice design, but they are there for a reason as they help you aim your putts more accurately, and help you centre the ball on your putter. But with so many different styles, it can be hard to know which one will aid you the most.

It’s up to you
If you prefer a more modern look, why not try the TP Red-White Ardmore 3?

Alignment is improved considerably thanks to the red-white contrast, which helps golfers envision a proper path from the ball to the hole. Various head shapes with different sightlines in the Ardmore range means there'll be a sightline to suit every golfer's eye.

Alternatively, the Spider Tour from TaylorMade is certainly for those who prefer a larger head.

Having a ball

When you’re watching the pros you’ll often see them hitting shots with amazing distance off the tee, along with plenty of spin from around the green. The way they strike the ball helps achieve this, but the ball itself is a crucial component of their game.
