Max finished in 26th at The EuroPro at Burhill this week. He started slowly in the final round making a 7 on the 5th hole, and was plus 3 through 7, but he battled back to plus one standing on the 18th hole.
A disappointing bogey meant a final round of plus 2 and overall finish of 26th place.
He is next out at open qualifying in a couple of weeks time with the next EuroPro event in the same week at Cumberwell Park Golf club.
Max is offering a FREE club check throughout June and July. If you want to check your irons, driver, hybrids, wedge or putter.
Give us a call, or click here to get in touch and we will get you booked in absolutely free of charge.
In last weekend's 5 club championship, an annual event played by the members, David Houseman returned a nett 29 to beat Gary Davies on count back. The scores were surprisingly good considering only 5 clubs were used.
Well done to everyone that took part.
Get in the Groove with the Vokey SM6 Wedges
One of our latest arrivals in the pro shop in 2016 is the Vokey SM6 wedges from Titleist.
Stunning looks, loft specific grooves and every loft and grind you could ask for makes this one you have to try.
We've had a number of members who had previously used the SM5 models try out the SM6 wedges, and they have been amazed at the increase in spin and control that you can get from these new wedges.
This is in part due to:
- Machine milled grooves and parallel face texture deliver 200rpm more spin than SM5
- Narrower and deeper grooves (46-54º) control spin on full shots
- Wider and shallower grooves (56-62º) maximise spin on partial shots

Complete Equipment Solution
Throughout May and June, we will be running our Complete Equipment Solution. This gives you the opportunity to have a FREE fitting and a FREE after sales lesson with one of our PGA Professionals here at Manston.
Since the launch of this offer, we have already had half a dozen or so of our members take us up on this offer, and it's been great to see them all gaining distance and accuracy over their previous clubs.
The purpose of running this offer is two-fold:
Firstly we want you, our customers, to experience the benefits of a custom fitting, and how much it can improve your game. For example even in the last few weeks we have had customers gaining over 20 yards in distance, and reducing the dispersion of each shot, just through using the right club, shaft combination as a result of a custom fitting.
Secondly, we want to give back to you to thank you for your continued custom. The after sales lesson will hopefully help you settle into your new clubs, so you can hit the ground running from your first round.
We are running this offer in conjunction with
PING,
TaylorMade,
Titleist,
Srixon and
Wilson, so why not

Wood a winner at Wentworth Has a nice ring to it doesn't it, especially for a certain young man from Bristol?
All the talk ahead of the European Tour's flagship event had been pretty negative, with a whole host of top names dropping out of the BMW PGA Championship for one reason or another. There was no Henrik Stenson, Rory McIlroy or Justin Rose, to name but a few, but we were treated to quite some finale, with Chris Wood coming from off the pace to claim the most significant tournament of his career.
'Woody' gave his own masterclass on ball-striking as he went out in a record-equalling 29 shots at Wentworth - and despite wobbling on the back nine, the 28-year-old held on to win by one stroke from Rikard Karlberg.
The win earned Wood £833,330 and put him into Ryder Cup contention, not a bad week's work.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic, Jordan Spieth fired a final-round 65 to win the Colonial National Invitational by three shots.
This now means that the top three players in the world, Jason Day, Spieth and McIlroy, go into this week's Memorial tournament having won their last events.
Looking ahead though, how nicely is the US Open at Oakmont shaping up? Lots to look forward to…
