New Manston Website and App

We’ve had an exciting week here at Manston as we have launched our new website and app. Both have been set up to be able to keep you up to date with everything happening at Manston. Winter Series

This week saw Max return to the golf course for the first time in 2018. He got off to a dream start starting birdie, eagle then continued the good form until his 13th hole where he dropped his first shot, this prompted him to make three birdies in a row to get to -7. This run was halted on the 17th with a 3 putt bogey. He finished with a 66 (-6) winning by 3 from the next best score of 69 (-3).

However the next day playing the same course but a different event in more testing windy conditions Max didn’t fare quite so well finishing in 11th place. Despite the difference in score if you looked at his statistics from each day he actually hit more fairways on the second day 6 out of 14 on day 1 and 12 out of 14 on day 2. This showed that although swinging it well and hitting lots of good shots he struggled to hit it close with his second shots and judge the wind on day 2. Showing the importance of controlling ball flight and selecting the correct shot in the wind.

Club MOT

If you look at your grips and they are so shiny you can see your reflection in them then it’s a fair bet that they could do with being re-gripped. Perhaps though you don’t realise how bad yours are until you compare it to a new version. We often forget the importance of grips, they are after all the only point of contact we have with the club.
