Did you know? Let’s face it, we’ve all carved a tee shot into the trees or thinned a bunker shot, some of us more regularly than others. If it’s a hard contact then there will be a good chance that your ball’s cover could have acquired a cut. But did you know that, under Rule 5-3, you can substitute in another ball mid-hole? Beware though... A ball is only considered damaged if it becomes cut, cracked or out of shape, not if it has light scratches or discoloured paint, so in the photo above you’d need a closer inspection. To do this you must mark its position and announce your intention to check it to your playing partner. You can then lift and examine it, before swapping balls if necessary. |
