Ladies competition

Results first this week, and well done to Grethe O’Sullivan in the midweek medal, a strong round of nett 62 saw her finish 2 shots clear of Adri Gordon and her handicap drop by a shot!

1st Grethe O’Sullivan nett 62, 2nd Adri Gordon nett 63 and 3rd Anne Kennett nett 70

Returning to the course

Sticking with results this week saw Max Brackley returning to the golf course for the first time since he became a dad 2 weeks ago! He’s been on a hot run of form prior to fatherhood, the question was what effect sleepless nights and nappy changing would have on his golf!

Picking up his clubs for the first time in two weeks Max was in the final of the Kent PGA Matchpla. Hhaving already won through 4 previous rounds he was now taking on Kingsnorth professional Tom Muchmore in the final at Boughton.

Max was 2 down after 8 holes but birdies 9 and 10 brought the match back to all square. A back and forth affair saw Max stand on the final tee 1 up, but a short missed putt meant that the match finished all square and it was a play off of Max and Tom.

After the first play off hole was halved Max had a 6 foot birdie putt to win on the 20th which he duly holed to be crowned Kent PGA Matchplay Champion.
