Barry Oakland wins Club Championship 2014
Barry Oakland was in fine form over the weekend when he managed to win the Club Championship for the first time. Barry, who is currently on an Unlimited Coaching package with PGA Professional John Brotherton, managed two steady rounds of golf with the second resulting in a superb 71. Little did Barry know, Dan Cook was also having a good day on the course when he returned a 74 to put him firmly in second place. Dan is also on an Unlimited Coaching package but with PGA Professional David Vernon. Barry's scores of 80+71= 151 were enough to put him ahead of Dan's 81+74= 155.
Both Dan and Barry spend a lot of time on the range practicing hard to become the best they can and surely this result has given both of them a huge confidence boost. Congratulations to both from all the staff at Manston Golf Centre.
Texas Scramble and Presentation Afternoon
On Sunday 27th July we will be holding our presentation afternoon for the year, running from January to Present. This should be an excellent way to get all of the members who have won competitions throughout the year together to celebrate their success. Before the presentation itself, we will have a 9 hole Texas Scramble from 12pm (£2 Entry per Person) followed up with a BBQ! So if you would like to take part in the event please make sure you get your names down in teams of three. We look forward to celebrating with you.
The Open Draw 2014
With The Open Championship only one week away, may we remind you all that our Open Draw still has a only a few spaces up for grabs. Numbers will get randomly assigned to a player in The Open and if he wins, you win! It's as simple as that. With a set of PING irons as the first prize plus prizes for the top seven golfers, this should be a must for any golfer. Good luck to all.
FootJoy Shoe Fitting Day
Friday 25th July will see our first ever FootJoy Shoe Fitting day. With 70% of golfers wearing the wrong size shoes, how do you know yours are correct? Simple, give us a call or click here to get in touch to book a time between 10am-4pm, a FootJoy representative will assist you in ensuring you have the correct size and if not, will gladly point you in the right direction, after all, four hours is a long time in shoes that don't fit correctly!

Summer Camps 2014 with PGA Professional David Vernon
Want to get your children out of the house this summer? Then we have the perfect solution, Golf Summer Camp! David will be holding two sessions:

Junior Coaching
Our junior coaching continues to go from strength to strength - if you're on the driving range on a Saturday or Sunday morning you can see some fantastic swings from children as young as 4! What's more they're all having a great time.
Our junior sessions are open to all children aged 4 years and over - no need to book just come along and get involved.
